THEY FOUGHT AND FELL
Remember, remember
Those who fought and fell so we could be free
The sacrifice they made
So brave, with valour their lives they gave.
Gone but they live on in memory
So bow your head now,
Standing still in silence we will all pray,
To learn and live in peace and justice on Remembrance Day.

THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain,
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

THEY WENT WITH SONGS TO THE BATTLE
Just lads from the farms and boys from the cities,
They didn’t know what danger lay ahead,
But they went with courage and songs to the battle,
They didn’t know how much blood would be shed.
For king and country and the promise of glory,
They’d face the fighting with a smile, so they said,
Now the guns will be silent on Remembrance Day,
In honour of all the fallen and all the dead.

THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER
We
cannot know him. And no honour we do him can give him the future that
was destroyed when he was killed. Whatever life he could have led,
whatever choices he could have made are all shuttered. They are over.
We are honouring that unacceptable thing – a life stopped by doing
one's duty. The end of a future, the death of dreams. Yet we give
thanks for those who were willing to sacrifice themselves and who gave
their youth and their future so that we could live in peace. With their
lives they ransomed our future.

WARRIORS OF WAR
Young men fighting, young men dying,
What was it all for?
It was to keep us safe, to keep us free,
They were the warriors of war.
They went through hell with many tales to tell,
So much blood and guts and gore,
We owe so much to our brave veterans,
They are the warriors of war.

WE ARE THE DEAD
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

WE SHALL KEEP THE FAITH
Oh you who sleep in Flanders Fields,
Sleep sweet to rise anew,
We caught the torch you threw,
And holding high, we keep the faith with all who died.
And now the torch and poppy red
We wear in honour of our dead,
Fear not that ye have died for naught,
We'll teach the lesson that ye wrought
In Flanders Fields.

WE WILL REMEMBER
The call to arms rang through the land,
Our young men answered the call.
They gave their lives and sacrificed,
We will remember them all.
And so it is with bowed heads
Each and every November,
We acknowledge all of our Fallen,
Yes, we will remember.

WEAR A POPPY
We
need to remember all those who are gone, lest we forget what they
sacrificed in the end. Remember the scarlet flower, the little red
poppy that never died on the battlefields. Like the memories of all the
fallen we wear them close to our hearts, so please wear a poppy.

YES WE REMEMBER
The bugler sounds The Last Post, the Maple Leaf blows in the breeze,
Yes we remember,
Bowed heads listen to the immortal words of John McCrae,
Yes we remember.
Vimy Ridge, Dieppe, Juno Beach, battles of long ago,
Yes we remember,
On each chilly November 11 morn on the 11th hour,
Yes we remember.
