PLEASE NOTE THAT THEMES ARE BEST VIEWED IN WINDOWS "CLASSIC" STYLE AND NOT WINDOWS XP OR VISTA STYLE. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT NECESSARY FOR THE THEME TO WORK. IF YOU CHOOSE TO KEEP THE XP OR VISTA STYLE, THE COLOUR SCHEME WILL NOT BE APPLIED. TO CHANGE TO CLASSIC STYLE BEFORE INSTALLING THEMES IN XP OR VISTA:

1. Right click on the desktop and click Properties

2. In the Themes dropdown menu choose Windows Classic, click Apply and OK.


3. Unzip the theme folder to the following location: C\Windows\Resources\Themes

4. Browse to C\Windows\Resources\Themes, open the downloaded theme folder, cut and paste ALL the theme files directly in the "C\Windows\Resources\Themes" folder. These files must be directly in this folder and NOT in a subfolder. The theme may not install otherwise.

5. Right click on your desktop, click on "Properties", click on the "Themes" tab, click on the Theme dropdown menu, choose the theme, click on the theme icon, click apply and OK. To revert to another theme, follow the same procedure.

6. If you receive an error message during installation, download and install a free Theme management program called "DESKTOP ARCHITECT" at this link: DESKTOP ARCHITECT

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS USING DESKTOP ARCHITECT FOR XP OR VISTA:

1. Before installing DESKTOP ARCHITECT, create a new folder in C:\Program Files. Call it Plus! (include the exclamation mark) Open this folder and create another folder. Call it Themes. This is the location where you will store all your themes.

2. Install DESKTOP ARCHITECT

3. Unzip the theme folder to: C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes

4. Open DESKTOP ARCHITECT, click the dropdown menu that says "Current Settings" located in the upper left.

5. Click "Other"

6. A new window opens with a dropdown menu at the top that says "Look in". This location should be C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes by default.

7. Find the theme folder in the list, and double click it to open it.

8. Click the Desktop Architect icon, then click "Open" located in the bottom right.

9. Click "Apply", upper left beside the dropdown menu.
